I guess so. My math says 3330 kg equals 7,341 lb.
My GLE53 weighs 5000 - 5200#.

I guess it's a Metric Ton higher.

I'm comparing the plug-in hybrid to the ICE version.
It's a metric ton heavier.
See posts 29 and 31 above for further clarification.

As I said, it looks like a plot from the tire companies to sell tires. Just kidding - I'm not into conspiracy theories - but they will consume a lot of tires.

1 metric ton = 1000kg = 2205lb

GLE53 hybrid is 935lb heaver than GLE53.

I was surprised to see it weighs 100kg more than the 350e, which is already a chonker.

Also interesting to see they derated the tow rating to 3300kg, mine is still 3500kg.

When I first read about the gle53 phev I was quite disappointed that I didn't have the chance to order it, but after talking the specifications with my local dealer I can 100% say I would have picked the ICE anyway.
425kg heavier + smaller trunk is not ok for me. Also, 500kg payload is quite ****ty for a car this size. I am really struggling to see the benefits of the PHEV, but maybe Mercedes will do some magic with it and it will be awesome.
Regarding the 2nd facelift, I hope they keep the same layout for the interior, it's much more practical than the GLC type.
