I left a message with SA, yesterday, asking if the actuator was replaced and what it does. Also asked if coolant temp was a result of that. I received a text back stating "Just a reset".

Doesn't seem like I am going to get anything more out of them.

That's unfortunate but not super surprising given that most places are a month out to get in. They just want to get the vehicles in and out not understand what happened.

Appreciate your updates and efforts to understand the issue. We are all in the same boat and can learn from each other things to watch for. I just had the 48v recall done last week, like you, and just completed a 2000 mile trip from Chicago to N Idaho. Fortunately no issues, but your experience was on my mind the whole way. Glad to hear you have had no other issues.

Cause 5: This will Always have fault code B183371 but different from cause 2 and 3 -- it will Not have B183349, B183319, or any other faults in the 48V battery. This will only have fault B183371 in 48V battery. Cause 5 is from the 48V battery detecting an abnormality which then causes the 48V battery to disconnect itself. The disconnected 48V battery then causes subsequent symptoms: Limp Home Mode, overheating, A/C not blowing cold, or loss of acceleration
Based on what I know about the battery technology, this sounds like they are overly cautious shutting down the 48v battery if a 48v actuator of some sort can trigger a battery disconnect. It also sounds like a software disconnect since a restart seems to have cleared the issue.

2024 Mercedes GLE63s
48V battery failure

My new 2024 Mercedes GLE63s (7 months old, 4500 miles) barely made it back home this morning. I was on the highway about an hour from home when a message popped up in red saying 48V battery malfunction. It got worse from there as everything started falling and I then got a “STOP VEHICLE” message. I was able to limp home and a flatbed is coming to pick this up. Have any of you had similar problems with a 2024?
