GLE Trunk Weatherstripping question

Hello Folks, is this weatherstripping looking correct to you? Why does this portion feels loose. Can you please check in your GLE AND advise if this part is loose or firm on your GLE model ?

can this lead to issues ?

this is how it looks where the joint is , not sure if it is supposed to be loose or there is a glue holding this coming off , or a clip holding it has broken.

The left side of mine is loose. Dealership is aware of this and asked that I bring it in to get sorted out.

do you know for this, they can work it on same day or they might ask to drop off car for multiple days ? Need to plan out something. Also I believe this is not something critical which cAn cause leaks , right ?

My service advisor told me I would have to drop off my vehicle. I'm assuming, if they cannot fix it they would have to replace the bumper cover. in my case, I would be getting a loaner. In regards to leaks, I don't see it as being a problem.

The Dealership commented the following on this issue.

==== ==== ==== ==== ==== ==== ==== ==== ==== ==== ==== ==== ==== ====

Cause : ASK CUSTOMER IF THEY HAVE HAD BODY WORK DONE? REAR BUMPER ISN'T THE SAME COLOR AS CAR. BUMPER IS DARKER.

Concern : CUSTOMER STATES THE REAR BUMPER PANEL THAT GOES UP INTO TRUNK AREA IS LOOSE ON BOTH SIDES. PLEASE INSPECT.

Correction

BUMPER SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN REPLACED/ REMOVED ALREADY. DOOR SEAL HAS A SLIT IN IT, PASSENGER SIDE HAS DOOR SEAL GOING OVER COVER. DRIVER SIDE HAS SEAL

GOING UNDER COVER. WHEN YOU PUT INTO LIGHT, BUMPER DOESN'T HAVE THE CORRECT COLOR OF CAR. BUMPER SEEMS TO HAVE A DARKER COLOR THEN THE CAR ITSELF.

UNKNOWN IF ITS A ORIGINAL OEM BUMPER. WOULD RECOMMEND HAVING BODY SHOP INSPECT AND LOOK AT IT
==== ==== ==== ==== ==== ==== ==== ==== ==== ==== ==== ==== ==== ====

Now I am pretty sure that the bumper was never replaced and it is OEM . I am still awaiting the final report from the service center but this is not making sense. Is the dealership trying to make money out of this ?

From what I researched online, it appears that color variations in the Bumper and the rest of body are fairly common in bright light , because of the different assembly line (i.e. bumpers are painted separately ) and also because of different materials as bumper is plastic while the rest of the body is metal.

Any advise what do you think ?

I saw this Merz24, and checked mine. Both of my sides you can press in for movement at those locations on my 2020 GLE 350. I don't have any leak issues. Mine was build 7/14/2020. I don't see how the Mercedes Black 040 can be a different color in appearance unless something happened at the factory. What year is your 450?

Correction, I watched the video and realized I was checking the wrong piece. Mine moves a little, but since this just appears to be a piece of plastic trim, I'm not sure it indicates a problem. Looks like a simple piece of double sided tape would secure it.

that's what I'm thinking too. I watched the video then check mine. and it has the same flexibility. I have no noise issue at all.
