Not one I paid for. Canada vs US have different std vs optional features. For example, US gets access to high speed charging included. In Canada it is a $650 option. I refused to pay extra for that… so it was included. Maybe Dash Cam is the same… don’t remember. Just know I didn’t pay for it.

I sense some trolling here (because it is explained well in the thread I mentioned), but I'll play along. On “What's wrong with just turning it off?” the issue is that it comes back on. If it would stay off, until I turned it back on, then it would be fine.
Here’s a use case very similar to one mentioned by elbekko. At a hotel with spouse and dog. In the morning, I pack the car. Each time I zip back in to get more stuff, I lock the car. No problem. Then, once everything is in the car, I get the dog and put him in the car. Then I have to go back and get my mobility-challenged wife. If I lock the car, then the alarm goes off just about as I get in the hotel.
If I don’t lock the car, then the very best dog in the world is unsecured.
If I remember as I’m putting the dog in, then I have to get in, start the system, wait for MBUX to stabilize, turn the interior alarm off, turn off the car, get out and lock it. Go in, escort, get in the car, start it and… drive, drive, drive. Hours later, stop at a rest area. I get out to escort my wife and…. should I lock the car? Hmmm, is the interior alarm off? Don’t know for sure…
I understand that Mercedes uses the term “cockpit” to describe the driver’s environment, but I shouldn’t have to have an actual checklist protocol to takeoff.
I should be able to set the car as I like. Get out. Get in. Get out. Get in. Get out. Get in. And still have it set as I like

I'll suggest two solutions.
One - turn off the interior alarm, as I described above. For my car, it stays off so I "still have it set as I like."
Two - If that doesn't work for you try a different sequence:
Load the car. Lock it.
Escort your wife, start the car to get the climate control going, disable the interior alarm, lock car.
Get dog, get in, drive away.
When you get to a rest area, take three seconds, push the car button as described above. If it needs to be disabled, take two more seconds and hit that button too. Do your thing.
Does it really reset to "Enabled" every time?
But if it does, now you have two workarounds.
I don't appreciate being called a Troll. I spent a lot of time going out to my car and checking the settings and taking a photo just to help your particular situation.
You're welcome.

There is only one thread you need to read about BMW X5 50e: https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2025929
Once you’re done with 51 pages of it, the “horror” stories here will pale in comparison.

I see now it was gmr555 who wrote the brilliant post with everyday use cases where the auto-interior alarm serves no one. In that same thread, elbekko posts about similar experiences.
I apologize for the troll reference, and hope you can understand how, in light of the above thread, your "just turn it off" message appeared deliberately obtuse. You're kinda a star in that thread yourself.
Yes, the interior alarm resets to enabled. Turning it off does work once. But then the next start enables it.
Thanks for your comments.

Key Fob
Hello, are the memory seats/steering wheel, tied to the keyFOB. at all? Or will my wife have to press the #1 memory button each time she gets into the car after I drive it?
Thanks
Thanks

They are not tied to the key. She can hit #1 or select her profile on the screen after turning on the car.

As mentioned by another owner, if you have setup profiles for each of you, the last profile used comes up when you start the ignition. Your wife can tap on her picture to select her profile which has are all her preferences (not just seat position).

All the technology on the Mercedes, but not this. My 2014 MDX had the smart key. Our Audi brings up the profile based on which key is used.

The newer systems have fingerprint sensor and /or camera for facial recognition to bring up your profiles.

I’m reading the GLE manual. I’m coming across items that I don’t think the 450e has. Power rear window shades, finger print sensor, power rear seats. I suspect they are only on the 580.

fingerprint sensor exists on 2025, power rear seats come with the 3rd row. Haven’t seen power window shades on recent GLEs

Sorry I should have been more specific, the newer systems I am referring to is NTG 7 (with the portrait-oriented center screen) like in the S class.

Thanks for clarifying. I thought maybe it was like 6.5 but I wasn't sure.
I guess not. The option code isn't listed in the build guide.

Well, my 450e has arrived. It was a CPO put in service in October. A MB employee had it. 12,000 miles in it. Virtually the way we wanted it if we had ordered it. It arrived on 7/12/24 with 1 tire very low. Brought it up to normal and it seems to be holding. The next day the CEL came on. Even running in electric mode, the CEL is on. Put it in sport mode to check the engine. It seems fine. Will make an appointment soon. The Augmented reality is cool.
New car.

Yes, I own the BMW X5 xDrive50e and read the horror stories on bimmerpost also. I haven’t had a single issue with the car in over a year. First time it’ll be back to the dealer for the 10,000 mile Mx.
Don’t let the forums influence you too much. Most people on these forums are enthusiast and are extremely picky. They will get upset about the smallest thing and complain. No car is perfect and every situation is unique — your results will vary. Enjoy the 450e, it is a fine car and you’ll love driving electric without any range anxiety.

I was told this changes in the 25 E class with facial recognition. All your settings will come automatically once programmed in the system and possibly with fingerprint.

If you have to enter the car before your seat can be adjusted, then I can see that would be clumsy.

That is the way it works in comfort setting now. The seat backs up and the steering wheel lifts when we exit and returns automatically in preset driving position when we close the door. With facial recognition, a different driver would not need to push his memory button for their preset driving position.
