I have Mercedes GLE350 2021, US specs. Today when I turned on the car, the odometer screen was fully black with no singlee light. The car was running normally and I even drove it and everything was ok except for the odometer screen. The other screen was normal.
I tried to restart the engine with not luck, I even left it for about 30 mins and nothing has changed.
Can you please help me ?? GLE350 2021
First.....LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL....THAT is the reason I did not get the newer car with the all LED dash!
On our car, on occasion the center display would go out and or flash randomly - on our car (GLS) on that particular screen it was caused by a lower voltage regular battery added to a low voltage "accessory battery". Both due to in general short trips only in the car for weeks at a time (the clinic is about 1.5 mi from home, back and forth trips only).
With luck, it is a voltage thing...bad luck? It might be a second mortgage to get things running.

So how was this helpful?
To the OP, pull the negative battery cable, under the drivers seat, accessible from the back. That will 99.9% clear it up and likely never happen again.
That is simply a false statement. I heard that EXACT same thing with our screen that went out. This quite simply is a cause and effect scenario. Fixing the issue is a temp solution to an over all diagnosis and resolution. For instance, took us about two weeks to diagnose the real issue with the voltage systems until we know with certainty that the low voltage (specifically of the accessory battery) was the underlying cause.
Then again, the typical fool just thinks "It works for now" and goes on with their day thinking they have a pinky promise with their car to not "misbehave" again. Ignorance is bliss, we have some happy folks running around (not the OP). The fact is, if the OP does NOT look at voltage, that would be the only real mistake they make. We also know (from decades of examples) the dealership will hands down lie about a "solution" right till the car is out of warranty. If this was to happen some night 500mi from home...well, now the OP has another entirely different situation, now doesnt he?
OP have you tried the soft reboot with the car running? it's the 2 rear buttons pressed at the same time. closest to your armrest. There is also the Reset option. but you will lose all of you personal settings and it will go back to factory setting. You'll have to input all you personal preferences all over again.

If you haven't been under the hood and done your own diagnosis, your first sentence is likely a false statement. I rely on troubleshooting to guide my diagnoses before I offer my experience.
It would be foolish to make a decree without knowing the facts.
Regarding your statement that dealers lie about problems until they're out of warranty - Mercedes has some of the best reimbursement rates for warranty claims, so there's no reason for them to do that. They would be turning down business. Any fool would know that. Even a typical fool like me.

Ok, so it's been at least 1 day.
Has your main screen come back to life? With the car off overnight (assuming you don't work when people are sleeping), that should be plenty of time for the car's electronics to settle and reset.
If your screen is still off, take it straight to the dealership (hopefully you are still under warranty). Don't make an appointment! Let them know the car can't be driven safely without any speed, fuel, and temperature gauges operating. They will agree with the "not safe" statement and "-----should----" give you priority.
Do keep us posted as this may be an interesting one.

I use the same mantra, only, for me - in general when I meet a fool I fire them. Just last week a fool tried to claim I could not fire her (because she was one of our newer MD's.). She was wrong. Plus, she can not practice medicine within 150mi of the home she just purchased. I have very little time for ignorance.
It sounds like you might be dealing with a fuse issue or a software glitch. Here are a few steps to try:
Check Fuses: Look in your fuse box for any blown fuses related to the dashboard or odometer display. Replacing a blown fuse might fix the issue.
Perform a Hard Reset: Disconnect the car battery for about 10-15 minutes, then reconnect it. This can sometimes reset the electronic systems and fix display issues.
Software Update: Ensure your vehicle’s software is up-to-date. Sometimes, an update can resolve these kinds of glitches.

Agreed - the question is why today and not yesterday? What was the factor that triggered the "glitch". As I had said, we had almost the exact same thing (granted, different vehicle)...if it were my car....what was it that created the situation to case the black screen. Only when that is known will a real, long term solution be found.

Oops.
Whoever wrote that restrictive a non-compete agreement might be called Fool-ish. Expect to end up in court. Fire that lawyer. Don't represent yourself because - well, you know the saying....

Actually after around 1 hour, I went to my garage and restarted, and everything went back to normal. "Thankfully"
I really don't know the reason, and if this will happen again, maybe I forget to mention that I live in Dubai-UAE and the temperature here reachs 50 and 55 c, so maybe this is a reason as I keep it long durations under the direct sun when I'm at work.
Anyway, next week I'll send it to my friend for a check-up as there is no warranty because the car is imported from USA.

I supposed that made you feel all powerful. What makes people like you.
just an update on this, after a computer check by MB technician there was an available update for the driver’s odometer screen. I hope this will completely resolve the problem of the driver’s screen getting black…
And by the way, the problem just occured once thus I am quite hesitant of having it checked by the dealership…
