2022 GLE 450
DIY oil changers
During a sunny day I could see vapor go out the oil cap after draining the oil. I always drain the oil hot but this time it was like warm.

I added fresh oil to cool and let it flush to drain until the oil leaving was clean. It was still hot enough to vaporize from the oil fill cap.

What would cause this heat?

Oil is pennzoil platinum euro LX 0W30. Gas is shell 93 v power (10% ethanol).

Don't worry about it.

Among other things, you have combustion gases in the crankcase from blowby. Normal.

Post a photo of the underside of the oil fill cap.
