What should I check before my factory warranty expires?
Sorry, I couldn't resist. Seriously though, a lot of that depends on your mileage and driving habits. I traded my 2020 GLE 350 for a 2023 GLE 450 and extending the warranty was definitely top of mind. To be fair, the 350 was paid for and what i spent to get the 450 minus trade in would have paid for a lot of potential repairs. I'd say if the car has been maintained, not driven like you stole it, and isn't pushing 200k miles, your odds of having a major problem are no better or worse than a new car.

I don’t know how busy your dealers are around your area but in NYC it was fairly booked up (almost a month wait) so plan your inspection with enough time to get in before expiration.
My indy spotted and oil leak towards the rear of the engine, didn’t go too deep into isolating the issue but I had it noted for my dealer visit. Other than that, nothing notable to report to the dealer. I scheduled my dealer appointment met with the service advisor and referenced photo provided by my Indy.
Issue ended up being a motor mount which failed and leaked oil, they inspected the engine for oil leaks and found nothing. All engine mounts, removal of steering components reinstalled/lubricated, and wheel alignment under warranty coverage. In a previous e63, Indy tech spotted a possible intake manifold issue. Same outcome, dealer inspected it, confirmed, replaced under warranty.
On a side note, I keep a few $10-$20 Starbucks gift cards around. In situations where I’m dealing with service staff, I usually extend a snack and a cup of coffee I call it ($50 for my SA that I have a long relationship with, $20 for the Tech). People make better decisions when their blood sugar is good.
