Rain sensing feature

Not too impressed with performance. Lets say you are driving along and the rain becomes heavy, it takes the system X amount of time (X being like 10+ seconds) before it picks up the pace to match. Then lets say traffic comes to a stop. It takes X amount of time for wipers to slow down again. Once traffic gets moving, you're blind again, as the wipers will take X amount of time to pick up the pace. I find myself keep having to hit the button for extra sweeps

Anyone experienced the same?
I swear the rain sensing feature in my wifes 2013 C300 is much smoother than this.

My vehicle is a 2021 GLE 450 Canadian Spec with magic vision.

I have no issue with MY2022 GLE450, no magic vision. Did this issue just start?

Also, how did you get magic vision on a 2021 GLE450? It wasn't an option on 2022.

My understanding is that Magic Vision availability in Canada is different than USA/other markets.

Appears it is standard here.

I don't have that issue as far as I am aware but I live in a place where it doesn't rain often.

Just curious, has it always been like this? If not, have you had your windshield replaced? Perhaps it could be related to that.

And if you're curious as to how these sensors work, here's a very in depth
.

Windshield is factory.
I've owned the vehicle for 1.5 years now, seems like its always been like this.
I live in a place where it POURS from October to March (Pacific Northwest). This is a major annoyance.

I agree it would be annoying. Have you asked your dealer about it? Maybe they can reset the sensor as if you got a new windshield to see if that would fix it?

Have you tried the second automatic setting on the stalk? I've found that with certain types of rain, it wipes to seldom on the first setting. Then with other types, it's to often on the second one and it ends up wiping an almost dry windshield. So I sometimes switch between the two settings.

That's why I leave my wipers set on "Off," and always squirt/wash/wipe my windshield when I expect rain.
That way I don't abrade my glass with a dirty first swipe.

I also occasionally go to the rear wiper and lift it, because it can trap a tablespoon of dust/dirt, ready to grind away at the its first swipe.
