It disables Start/Stop until you start again.
The "until you start again" is required in order to achieve their CAFE standard.
It can be programmed out by a knowledgeable coder.
I barely notice mine.

 

That releases a sonic boom and causes Avalanches....only works in the Alps though so try not to use it otherwise.

The A button in my G550 never functioned, but coding the S/S permanently off did.

Previously, Launch only did high-end $12,000 units.
The consumer line is more recent.

The last time I brought it up, several folks lambasted me for using a Chinese product.
I put it at the other end of the house so it wouldn't damage the car while I was sleeping.

Now I feel safe putting it near the car. 😅

The LAUNCH scanner is about $160USD here in the US through Amazon. Are there any non-Chinese scanners?
