Looks like we only have Ontario forum members here as a data point when it comes to Canada.

Ok so Ottawa got it just as a data point, I assume Torontonians got it too?

Another possibility is the roll out is not by region but by vehicle build date. Either way, it is a staged roll out.

Maybe not all hardware is compatible with the most recent updates. My 2024 was built in May 2023 and one of the earlier 2024 model year builds. My latest over the air update was to MBUX 2.4. It was installed 14 March 2024.

Possible but what I seen on the forums, sometimes OTA updates simply doesn't work, be it no reception/poor reception or not enough inactivity (or activity) time for it to download and install or other factors may be. Usually can force the update through XENTRY.

Quote: Got it last week. No issues. Is this the latest?
We got the update this week on our '24 GLE580. The handwriting keyboad via the track pad has disappeared. It's still in the digital owners manual and was usable before the update. The Sound Drive in the Media menu isn't there. I don't know if it was ever meant for the US, but it's not there. I honestly don't know what I "gained" from the update. All I know is I lost a feature.

*UPDATE - the Sound Drive has to be activated via the MBUX Infotainment menu of the Digital Extras section of the MB app

I got the update last week. I found the Sound Drive and find it to be totally useless. It has 40 songs that have to be download and its all hip hop themed. I didn't notice any other changes. I'm in a 2024 and in NYC.

Pretty hyped up feature though.

Quote: Unless you really truly need the 2.6.1 update and its features, it may not be a big deal I think?
I received 2.6.1 yesterday. Except for wanting to do a set up while my wife was in a hurry. Every thing looks fine. We will see about losing settings. I’m interested in hearing the Dolby Atmos on Amazon music. I wonder if that works with Apple CarPlay, or if there is a MB AMAZON music app.

You have to use the built in music streaming apps, not CarPlay. You can just log in with your Amazon Music account.

Thanks, so does that mean that I have to sign up for their WiFi? Or can I use my phone as a hot spot?

You CAN use your phone as a hot spot, but I would sign up for the WiFi, its well worth it. The audio quality from the onboard apps is night and day better than CarPlay.

if I was going to use one of the streaming services all the time, perhaps. I usually use Sirius Xm or I listen to the songs on my phone though. Quality isn’t that important, I have tinnitus, so nothing sounds that good anyway.

Tinnitus affects many people, I do have it too but I can hear different quality of music despite having it, I guess the degree of tinnitus also matters perhaps. Mine is getting worse it seems.
