Can’t order the sport exhaust and had to accept certain options I really don’t like (m striping in seat belts and iconic glow grill). I’ve also checked out the Porsche Cayenne, but it felt slow compared to the GLE 53. Legroom in the back is even worse at Porsche. Good luck with your choice!
Congrats on the MB and welcome to the "bright" side from the "dark" side.

BMW is going backwards in terms of luxury.

The new X3 has black plastic everywhere.

Apart from the seats, its no more luxurious than a 1990s Honda.

Depends on the model. The new 7 Series is much nicer than the previous model inside.

Pretty tempting, and I think they still have a full sized spare with matching alloy (?). It's a GLC63AMG competitor in size.

My 2023 BMW M2 has a button to turn of auto stop/start but find no reason to do so, even without electric assist - not intrusive at all.

A woven textile dash is an option which is a better an interesting look.

I heard they changed it on recent model years? Does the 2023 M2 have 48V mild hybrid? I am not too familiar with bmw to be honest.

No, it does not. My point was even with the straight 6 without that it is unobtrusive.

The armrest, stalks, door handles and switches are still black plastic on the 2025 BMW X3.

BMW squeezing out some extra profits even though they are enormously profitable already.

I have mixed feelings with the fabric type dashboard they kind of took that from a mazda or something. I think they should had at least stick with faux leather the very least but I guess good to have options... I guess?

Yeah my 20 year old Honda has fabric accents in the interior.

So apart from the seats, my base level Honda has more luxury than a base level BMW X3.

Did you know W222 in Europe had cloth seats? https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w...g-content.html

In general, Europeans don't like seats that have come from a dead animal.

I think it's the animal cruelty thing, at least in Germany.

My best ever hides were Old School British. Although I'm pretty impressed with my current Nappa Diamond Stitched interior.

I see. Understand now. Thanks! I guess I too like animals, so MBTEX works for me.

MBTex is pretty terrible IMO, but other manufacturers have very good synthetic leather I wouldn’t mind having. BMWs new Sensatec I would never guess wasn’t Napa leather.

I guess I really should find a chance to test drive or test ride a few competitors to know what I am missing out.

I suspect BMW is going to cloth seats.

That would be the complete transformation to a 2005 Honda, which they are attempting with the new X3.

I mean, they already have cloth dashboard. So not far off, hey at least it is "sustainable".
