2024 GLE580 trim issue

I had a drivers side roll up rear window replaced on my GLE a few days ago. I noticed last night the outside window trim along the bottom of the window wasn't properly installed and was loose and ready to fall off. I removed the main visible part of the trim and tried to re attach it to the rubber base still on the car. I can not figure out how to securely fasten it back on. I can't find any info online on how to properly install. I'm thinking I might have to remove the base rubber strip that is attached to the car and then re install the trim as a unit. But, before I remove the rubber base I thought I would ask here. The 580 is a CPO I bought from a dealer that is about 175 miles away, so I really don't want to drive back there to have them fix. Any one know how to do this or a link to an instructional video. Thanks for any info...

Is there a dealer closer? They should still be able to honor the CPO warranty. I know it sucks but on a $100k ++ car, I wouldn't want to mess with it. Maybe call the dealer you got it from who did the work and see if they can accommodate something to make this less painful.

I seem to remember there being a recall for this. Not sure if it applied to your model year. Check for recalls with your Vin #.
Here are a couple of recalls.....

It's under warranty, you can go to any dealer you want to get it fixed.

I made an appointment with Mercedes Daytona. They looked at it this morning and determined that the trim piece in question ,to insure no issues was best replaced with a new one. A replacement is on order and should be in next Wednesday. So it appears if you remove the trim for any reason it might be a good idea to replace with a new one. I would agree with that as I saw how it attaches. BTW the recall on the GLE 's up to 2023 window trim was for the trim on the vertical post between the front and rear doors.
