Post WeatherTech Matts

More of an FYI and certainly not critical info but I just aquired a GLE350 over the weekend and live near the WeatherTech factory store so I picked up a set.

I have been happy with these through a couple of vehicles but it looks like their digital fit for the GLE is actually for the ML and all mats fit apart from the passenger side. The mat sticks out on the side facing the door and is not a good fit. I emailed their support so not sure if they will do anything and to be honest I am not super worried about it but if you would be, figured I would share.

I have weather techs and I don't like them. Too slippery and they don't cover enough carpeted area. Mine are MBA branded too.

Those are all weather liners. Weather tech also makes all weather mats and you have to specify which ones you want. The MB brand were recalled 2 years ago and new ones haven't been introduced yet.

I have a ticket into them, they are checking the product code on the passenger mat. I'll post what I get. The floor liners I have are not slippery for me though. I have had WeatherTech in my last 3 cars and they work well. In the past I had the MB all weather mats which were sort of a honeycomb design to trap dirt and water but that also meant cleaning them was a pain, ergo WeatherTech.

Got info back, they did fit for the ML and not the GLE and after pointing out that this means they are falsely advertising the value of their "laserfit" mats for the GLE, they are offing a full refund. Mind you these are mats, not the end of the world that they did not actually update for a minor change in interior shape but this is the main value prop for the product. Oh well.

That's weird... I just took out my weather tek's out of my 2013 ML350
and put them in my 2016 GLE till I get new ones and they fit perfectly.
They must have changed them for the 14's or 15's which is

I picked up my Weathertechs (with Mercedes badging) from the stealership. Price was the same as from Weathertech, fit was perfect, and the fronts snap into the carpet clip. Rear passenger row sits on the clips (doesn't clip in). Cargo is NOT Weathertech, but very similar, and MB badging on it, so I'll take that over Weathertech badging $300some total for all.

After reading this i went to the dealership and looked at getting a set for my truck. All they had were the hard plastic liners, they did clip in like you said, but they didn't go all the way back, and when i put my cruise control on and pull my feet back, my feet would have been off the mat. I decided against getting them. Fit was as you said, they seemed to slide in and clip in perfectly, but didn't seem to go back to the seat far enough for my liking. Plus, acknowledging that they were brand new, they were really slippery. In my old infiniti i had thick rubber weather techs that i liked. I guess ill have to hunt to find these for the MB. I would have rather had the star as opposed to the weather tech symbol .

Weather tech are pieces of garbage. They do not fit correctly on the E350 also. Bought a set and returned them because they did not fit correctly. Bought 3D maxpider matts and they fit like a glove. Perfectly. They were also cheaper and look better.

If you put a little effort into the search you should contact one of the people that sell the product. When I originally went looking on ebay at the dozen or so sellers my vehicle was not listed either but after contacting one they had it in stock. lol

I bought weathertech all-season mats instead of the digital liners.

The all-season ones fit fine for GLE.

WeatherTech Lifetime Warranty

Look at the wear my driver's side WeatherTech mat displayed after only 10,400 miles. In reading their warranty below, I did NOT consider this normal wear. After all, my GLE is 3 1/2 years old, but it has less miles than the average person accumulates in a single year. Fortunately, WeatherTech agreed with me and honored their warranty. They sent me brand new front floor mats for both driver's and passenger's sides. I only asked for the driver's side, but they come in pairs that are attached. I love companies that stand by their products. That's why I decided to share this. By the way, the new mats seem to be a slightly harder rubber compound. Maybe they realized the rubber was too soft and made adjustments.

Lifetime Limited Warranty
WeatherTech Direct, LLC warrants that our products will be free from any defects in materials and workmanship for the life of the original purchaser and only for the original vehicle they were installed in. That does not mean that a product that simply and naturally wears out from normal use is a candidate for a warranty replacement or a refund. Like tires, brake pads or the shoes on your feet, everything wears out and when it does, that does not mean you did not receive good value for your money.

We are reasonable people and we believe in true customer satisfaction. We will work with you for a fair resolution to any issue you may have. Fair is defined as being fair to both you the customer and to WeatherTech. We do not charge extra for our products to our vast majority of customers so we can accommodate ridiculous warranty claims by the few. Our decision is final and will consist of either replacement of your product at no charge or charge you a prorated amount for a replacement, meaning we may extend a discount to you to purchase an exact replacement. Our goal is to keep our customers happy for a lifetime and always reach a fair resolution to any issue. Proof of purchase is required.

They were extremely kind to you... That looks like normal wear to me and is hardly noticeable!

I would agree with you, if it wasn't for the low mileage. That's about 10 months usage for the average driver. I've had all-weather mats before. They've never worn like that.
