...so I ordered a new GLE300d on 2/7. They are telling me that the car will not arrive at the dealer until the end of April or beginning of May. This sounds a bit long to me since they are built right here in Alabama. Does anyone have any information about normal build-delivery time for these?

It's possible that your dealer could already have all their allocation orders in for March so you may have an April allocation. Build will probably take a few weeks. I purchased at the beginning of February and have been patiently waiting for delivery in mid-May. I only think about it every single day and it's driving me up the wall.

Side question - Are all GLEs built in Alabama?

I ordered mine first week of January this year. My GLE350 was built in the first decade of February and was delivered to my dealer in California last week of February.

 

I ordered the last week of Jan. and just recieved word it will be here Monday or Tuesday. Mine was a car that was already allocated to the dealer and they just built it the way I wanted.

 

I ordered mine on January 2 and it arrives at the dealership on 3/22.

 

ordered my GLE coupe on Jan30th cam in Friday only 56 days but was told it was going to take 3 months. its a coupe but they are built in the same factory. u will get it sooner from what i have seen they always come early dealers just tires to play it safe.

 

My 1st guess would be dealer allocation. Ask you salesman if that is the case and if so, can they swap a spot with another dealer. My 2nd guess would that the diesels are being held for a bit. Closer EPA scrutiny due to the VW mess. I know that the GLS diesels are being held at the factory.

 

Actually - ALL GLS's that have been built so far - at this moment - both gas and diesel - are being held at factory VPC pending Federal approval and official Mercedes release....

 

we ordered ours 11/9 and picked up on 12/29. but it was already in the dealer queue and we customized. ron

 

Tried to get an update from my dealer but my guy still has no other info other than "in production". The wait is killing me.

 

Im in same boat. I CAN NOT WAIT ANYMORE!

My dealer said MId April all along but it feels like forever. I placed build on Jan 15th. Build date April 10th. So I hope it is here by May.
