MBrace- How is it working currently for everyone?
Can anyone chime in on how MBrace is working for you currently? Does it work all of the time, etc? Delay?
Thanks!
Thanks!

pathetic.
my home is in a relative dead zone for cell. i had to put in a network extender (femtocell ?) many years ago just to get coverage (i'm verizon).
mbrace can more often than not locate the vehicle, but can't seem to remote start it (communication issue). meanwhile, my Impreza which is parked 5 feet away flawlessly remote started every cold morning with a press of the keyfob.
embarrassment if you ask me. and don't get me started on Command

It is TERRIBLE. I can not believe they dont just hire some 21 year old kid to program something that works. All the tech is in place - the user interface and coding is AWFUL. A backend designer created it with no front end in mind and dodgy code which is why it sucks. The connection, tech, etc is all in place. Benz just wants this to suck is all I can think.

what they said, almost. never had a bmw.
i truly believe they just said "we can do it better", but far from it. spend an hour or 2 playing with one on the lot and you will clearly see the issues. glaring: not a touchscreen. you have that stupid little finger control that really gets in the way. add'l: there are certain screens that if you are on and initiate voice, it tells you that you cannot use the "x" function from that screen and you have to switch to the "Y" screen. then you need to re initiate and say "y" screen. IF YOU KNOW I'M ON THE WRONG SCREEN AND KNOW WHICH ONE I HAVE TO GO TO >> THEN GO TO IT!
consolation prize, tho, you do get a bat signal
that stuff said, i would never buy a vehicle based on the audio/controller system being a significant decision point. this is my 6th mb since 1990 so i focus mostly on the brand build and durability. i think the problem is that they are moving out of their old business model and trying to do it all themselves. back in the day the entire model line was less than the current suv line alone.
ah progress. good luck and i wouldn't let command stop you if you like the brand. ron

mbrace remote startup app works on my phone only when I use my cell data service, not my wireless connection. Thru cell data, there is an approximately 45-60 second delay between my pressing the remote start button and my car actually starting. Same goes for door locks.

I use the remote start frequently and it works 90% of the time on first try, but it does take about a minute. Door unlocking and locking has worked fine.

maybe i was unclear on operation. i'm in a cell near-dead zone. almost no bars 3g or 4g or 1x. so remote start doesn't work almost always. in a good reception area, it will connect and start (there is a normal process delay).
i'm guessing location works because it follows a different path or is less data dependent. don't know, just a WAG. i guess i could move ron

Junk, remote start works about half the amount of time. No problems with signal or anything else as I started "locating" the vehicle before using the remote start. Mbrace can locate the car but then can't communicate when trying to start. Car has been in the dealer twice so far to try to figure out what is going on.

I think I've got mine to remote start, maybe twice out of the 10-12 times I've tried. The valet protect works but it alerts me well after the car has been out of the area. The Send2Benz does pretty good but it takes time to get it. So I usually just make sure I send it the night before and maybe the car has recieved it by the next morning. The Driving Journal has a real pretty map, but I still don't know what it does or been able to see any driving history anywhere. Maybe Mbrace has a copy of it in their safety deposit box if anything ever happens to me and the police need it. It is good about texting me to let me know that it failed, again, to do something.
Other than that, it's an amazing, technological advanced, wonderfully useful app......for my 3 year old.
Oh, and why the freaking heck do I have to sign into the app everytime I open it.

I use Send2Benz every day in SF on our GLE 400. I find that feature works great, and I actually like the built-in navigation better than Apple Maps/CarPlay nav.
If you haven't tried Send2Benz, basically you open the mbrace app, tap Send2Benz, paste in the address you want (e.g. from Yelp, email, etc.), and then click Send. Then when you start the car (or indeed, if you are already in the car) it will pop up to start nav Yes/No. You can say Yes to start navigating now or No to save it for later. Works very well! The turn-by-turn is pretty good and accurate, and you can see the next turn info on the driver's LCD screen. We generally Send2Benz before going out to the garage so we are ready to go.
I also use the voice control (form COMAND) to place bluetooth phone calls which works very well.
I've also used remote lock and remote locate which work well.
MBrace Concierge is also quite good, I've used them to book restaraunts, find gas stations and book a hotel in Lake Tahoe. Overall, I actually think it's a solid A experience -- honestly not sure exactly what other folks are complaining about.
Also, the COMAND screen in the GLE is fairly good size and easy to read.
I've also used BMW iDrive which is a nightmare, and Audi's tech is pretty bad. Overall the mbrace system is a lot better IMHO.

Thanks for the tip on Send2Benz gle400! I have not explored the App really well, but that sounds like what I need exactly. I love the maps, and have used built in NAV to enter destination, but its way too cumbersome and time consuming.

MBrace is crap. The remote start has had so many issues that it is not even funny. If it did not come free with my car I would NEVER pay for it. I used the valet park and got the same notification as someone else on this thread.... well after the car was out of its parked location.
If you are offered it as a paid option .... Say NO!
