Has anybody install a trailer hitch on their GLE 450?
Any help with this is much appreciated.

I have read several others asking about it too and most have had to have it come with the car. I would ask the MB service center first because I've also read there is a lot to the wiring too if you want trailer lights.

MB service had a quote for parts at around $1700 + labor. Was trying to see if there were any aftermarket options, but it looks like there aren't.

At this moment - when a dealer parts department checks on hitch install for GLE - there are a TON of parts called out that "are recommended" to be changed out to successfully install the MB hitch - including gas tank.

I have had my guys order in the "hitch" alone for test fit without changing out "recommended" parts

At this moment there is NO aftermarket hitch GLE hitch available that I know of yet.

That's right I "think" I know at the moment.

Mine was factory installed and it has been great. Just FYI - Install an electronic break controller. I use Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller.

I had one installed as a factory option, no trailer brakes on my boat trailer. Hauls like a dream.
