Another NHTSA study found headlight visibility issues with LED headlights even in some luxury vehicles. The lighting package is an important option for me if I switch from E350 to the 2017 GLE. For those members who have the current model with LEDs, what has your experience been?

 

My personal experience is that these LED headlights are phenomenal in particular with the active system and I would never drive another car with less than this caliber of lighting again.

unfortunately, some yuck-a-pucks feel the need to flash their high beams even though the light beam is clearly well below their eye level (you can see it). ron

 

best headlight system I have ever had on any car. Auto high-beam feature is nice as we have lots of deer around here and I can spot them easier at night with this feature.

 

They are the best headlights on any car I have ever driven!
If you do not get them- you will regret it!

 

Must have period.

 

The beam has a bright white colour, and relatively sharp demarcation with little bleeding.
I followed the advice given here and am very happy with the Active LED lights, especially for the low mark up in price for the option.

I have my lighting package on my 2017 GLE. Amazing is the only word I could describe. Plus, I did a good deal so overall paid $1500 for the lighting package addon alone.

 

After using them for a week I would agree that it is a must have, definitely get them.

 

Must have, only option that was highly recommended by my sales rep. what a difference it make compare to GLE with standard Headlights.

 

For those who have the LED lights, does your light have a yellow tint when up close against a wall or vehicle?

 

I had it on my past 3 MBs. I'll never get another MB without it.

 

Just a slight tint on the top edge, i think that has to do with the light spectrum.

 

Once you go Active LED front headlights you can never go back. I got a stock gle as a service loaner while getting my wife's c300 serviced and the lights are ****. Absolute crap!! Premium 2 package is worth it just for that in my opinion plus it looks sexy as hell.
