Mercedes GLE 350d Airmatic/4matic ground clearance.
Can anybody give information about the standart ground clearance of the GLE SUV, and also how much additionally it can be raised with the air suspension in offroad mode/without offroad pack/. As far as I know over 80 km/h the car is lowered automatically, but how much?
In different sites data about ground clearance of this vehicle vary a lot

Sure... call your local dealer and get the straight info... since most of the members here are from US..and frankly being non-US ..your country's suspension will be different from US..

Thank you for the answer!
Honestly I didn't have in mind US vehicles clearance could be different from EU vehicles. I doubt MB produces two types of suspension for different markets, it is possible though.
When I asked the dealer he was not exactly sure, he told me in normal mode ground clearance most probably is 180mm and it can be raised with anoter 30mm in offroad mode of the Airmatic/without having the offroad pack.
My observations were, that when I tried to raise the car during test driving it, it raised more than 30mm, measuring the gap over the wheel. In the same time in some reviews they claim that the air suspension raises the GLE with 60mm.
As far as the standart clearance is concerned, it may be 18cm, although when I compare the GLE with my current X3 side by side, the GLE doesn't seem to be lower at all and the X3 has a 210mm of clearance. Again this is only the impression I get looking from apart, sometimes there is only a single part of the vehicle, which is lower positioned, and this is where the lowest clearance should be measured.

Try downloading a current copy of the GLE owner's manual (US version), I believe they provide the clearances for normal and Airmatic (with or without Off-road Package) configurations. It may give you an idea of what to expect.
