I'm Back

Well Forum it's been a while, I have strayed and have certainly learned my lesson. Never again and I don't know what came over me but back in 2014 I traded in my 350 E for a Range Rover Evoque. What a POS!! My lease is up in May but I just couldn't take it any more. I know this is by far the Best time of year to buy a car as the dealers have to fill their quotas so I am taking a bit of a spanking but I bit the bullet and ordered a new GLE. Drove one last night and OMG!!! What a difference!. Now I can't wait to pick it up. I thought our ML was a nice ride but this vehicle is like heaven. There is NO comparison in my mind to any thing else out there!. We got the Selenite Grey with a wooden wheel Drove the GLC and that was beautiful but after driving the GLE there was no choice but to bump it up. So solid and powerful, graceful and sure. I can't wait to drop this **** bucket off and drive my new Mercedes home. I will post pics etc once its mine but just wanted to say hi again to all my friends at the forum. Can't wait to post some threads and add my 2 cents. I'm back on track!

Congrats.

back in '90 when we first got into MB, we test drove 3 cars: 300E 4matic; LR and Subaru Legacy. The LR came in last. The legacy would had been first (bang for the buck) if not for the stupid "auto seatbelts". not trashing, just the way it went. i did wind up buying subarus for my kids once they started driving. (highly recommended).

anyway, glad you're looking forward to it. i like the gle. good luck, ron

Congrats! I'm looking forward to getting my GLE coupe in March, too. I have to say I do really like my wife's Range Rover Sport, as well, though, LR has come a long way since their bad old days.

I've dodge this bullet from my wife several times so far. Thankfully!

Welcome back by the way and thanks for the ammunition when the wife starts asking for a RR again!

Yes the Sport is what lured me into the RR dealer in the first place. A friend of mine owned one and I was very impressed with it until I found out the cost which was a bit more than what I wanted to spend so I went for the less expensive Evoque. I think it's one of the best looking SUVs on the market but after owning it I was quite disappointed with a few things such as: the way it accelerates and the quality of components on the interior. I'm sure the Sport is of much better quality but there is no way the Evoque even comes close to the solid build of the GLE. Oh well live and learn. Good Luck with the Coupe. You wont be disappointed.

So, I'm ready for delivery tomorrow. Dealer will be dropping off a brand new '17 and taking that RR away to God knows where. Can't wait for 1PM to take it for a nice ride. I will take a few pictures so I can change my signature and post a few shots for all to see. The car was trucked in from a dealer in Maryland that had the wooden wheel I want so I am patiently waiting for delivery. Wish me luck!!

Whoa, That is going to look sweet with the Brown Ash, very nice choice. I got the Anthracite Poplar also with Black int and Selenite Grey. I think I would have chosen the Ash or maybe Burl if I had a choice but both my time and options were limited. It looks much better than I thought it would so, no complaints. I just love the feel of a wood wheel on a luxury ride regardless of the species.

I plan on finally taking a few pictures this week end as long as it's sunny, may have to wait for Sunday but definitely this week end rain or shine. I will post some pics and change my signature and then be back in the groove.

February will be here before you know it and you'll have exactly what you want. I guess I didn't have the patience this time around but. There's really no way to go wrong with a MB.

In any case Happy Holidays , Merry Christmas if you celebrate and look forward to seeing some pics of your baby in a few weeks. Enjoy and thanks for posting.

Kinda Rainy here in NY today but didn't want to wait any longer to post some photos. Also need to vacuum the interior but here she is. Nothing too special or out of the ordinary but I love her.

Looks good! Is that the mounting bracket for the front license plate (that large black rectangle)?
