Dashboard display question.....

I noticed on the dashboard, there is a display (I believe it is one click down from the mileage display) it shows the current mph and an estimate of the remaining mileage in that tank of gas. Just to the right of the current mph bar, there is a second bar labeled "charge".
I assume that MB just made one display for all vehicles and even though the bar is active it means nothing if you dont have a hybrid or electric MB vehicle. Is that a safe assumption or is there some cool function I am not aware of ?
I dont have an electric model GLE, just a gas or maybe flex fuel version.

I've noticed it too and seen it fill and turn green. I thought it had something to do with the charging battery for the eco start stop. But I also thought the 350 model didn't have the eco start stop?

I have auto start stop on my 350 in Canada so that also depends on where he lives.

I'm in North Carolina, but I thought the salesman mentioned something about eco start/stop when we were going through the features of the car. If it has that feature, I haven't experienced it at this point.

Look for an eco button on the center stack near the heated seats. It's on the passenger side of the hazard button if I remember correctly. It will have a green light on it. I thought I remember reading that some 350s don't have the feature but it may depend on where you live like kwando stated. In my wife's 350, it takes about 15-20 minutes of driving before it starts working. My 3.0L will do it within 3-5 minutes.
And hello from your neighbor in upstate SC.

I'll take a look when I get in the car later today for that button. If it is there, it hasn't been active, so it may nit have it on the car.
We could be neighbors, I am close enough to the state line that I can walk to SC. I am in Charlotte.

ECO Start/Stop is "ON" by default. If you had it, you would have noticed an illuminated green light on the button itself whenever you drive.

I also have this on my 2016 GLE 350 and wondered what its purpose is... just assumed it didn't apply to my vehicle even though sometimes you can get it to "go green".
