Sig on Windshield
Has anyone noticed a signature on the windshield of their car? Not sure what it's their for but I checked other GLE43's and the sigs are different on each car I saw. Just thought it was interesting and curious as to what it means.

Yes, it's to authenticate it as a genuine MB windshield. Generic replacements don't have the heat absorbing properties of the original MB windshield.

Thanks for the info Sube. One last question.. If I ever had to replace the windshield and took it to the MB dealer for that, would it have another sig or is that just for factory builds? Here in CO we tend to go through windshields more than others.

Another thing to be aware of is if you ordered the option below, MB side windows are unique too.
Laminated acoustic front door glass -
"Laminated, infrared-reflecting glass in the front doors helps reduce radiant heat and noise penetration, enhancing cabin comfort on multiple levels."

Mercedes windshield for USA models at least have had a signature decal on the windshield since the 1970s. If you get your windshield replaced by a dealer (and you should) they will make sure you get a new decal.

If I remember years ago. You can actually purchase that signature by itself. I was going to replace it on my old 2004 CLK500 because it was pealing due to the sun and it was aging.
