Keyless Go - lock/unlock only by Fob
Hey have a GLE 550e for about 5 months now, one issue I find really annoying and my wife always complains about is the keyless touch of the door does not work.
Anyone know why? It does have the push button start, but the door handles are different and seems like this features was eliminated on the 550e. I'm assuming it's due to the climate system coming on when you press the unlock, but coming from 5-6 years of vehicles of the touchless feature it is really annoying, plus when juggling the two kids often has my wife leaving it unlocked.
Does anyone else's 550e have the touch entry? Is it possible to swap the door handles for the touch entry ones and it will work? or maybe needs programming?
Hoping someone can help me solve this ..
Naw this is different, seems every MB model offered has the touch the door handle to unlock EXCEPT the GLE 550e Hybrid
Hoping there is a way to get this installed or working ...

Mine kinda look like this:
That car is gone and the new GLE500e (same as your GLE550e) is due in port next week. I prey we don't have the same problem.

On the original post, I have had a few problems with the car unlocking the doors but it usually because I'm in too big of a hurry and don't give the car a second to register my hand on the handle before I pull on it.
Other than that, I usually have problems if the battery is low in the key. But if I pay attention the car tells me when the key fob battery is low. (Yes even new cars have bad batteries in key fobs. Change the battery if you haven't already tried it)
When you do a quick Google search of "GLE550e keyless entry" there are several dealerships promoting "keyless entry" on the ad for their car. I don't know of MB making a different keyless entry other than the key fob and touching the door to lock and unlock the doors. I could be wrong and have been before because my wife has told me. So you having to add the system doesn't seem warranted. It sounds more like something else is going on.
Do another Google search and there are ways to tell if the key fob is actually transmitting (using a cell phone camera and others) or if the car is receiving the signal ("fuses").
Good luck
