Milage when towing with GLE350d
Ok, so put our new house on wheels and the GLE to the towing test, about 750 mile trip first run at it.
Travel Trailer empty, around 2975 LBS, tows and handles pretty good with GLE, the shift programming changes with trailer plugged in, MB did not really utilize the torgue as much as they could have (guessing to save the trans) did not see 8th gear much at 60mph, mainly 6th and 7th
Milage goes straight into the dump, dropped to around 14MPG or 16.5L/100 !, which is about half of what I see without towing...I'm guessing because it sits in 6th and 7th.
Problably lots of aerodynamic drag but did not expect 50% drop!
Handles great.
