Due to time constraint I can't perform the oil change my own, so I'm seeking your advice on whether I should take to dealer to do the 1st oil change? or I do yelped a local reputatable shop seems european cars focused. Should i take it there instead? it's a saving of $150 comparing to dealers.

Here is the US - every 10K miles - 0W40 or 5W40 recommended Mobil One - with correct filter it's not rocket science - keep a receipt to the oil change.
Do a google/you-tube for procedure to reset your Service Indicator moves forward to next service.
On dealer service dept - they also go down a inspection check list in addition to the Oil Change.

The dealership does anything that has to do with warranty work. Otherwise I have a great independent dealer that only works on MBs and does my oil changes and apparently all the times need brakes. And it usually about half ($$$) what the dealerships expects.

We change ours every 5,000 kms. Typically that means one change at the dealer (we have prepaid maintenance) and one at a local indy shop with Motul. We typically drive shorter distances in the city and go on gravel, dusty roads while hiking in the summer; both call for shorter intervals and I dont mind having the peace of mind for an extra couple hundred dollars. Also read about the diesel engine running hot and breaking down oil much earlier than the recommended interval - seems to be the best way to avoid a catastrophic scenario (seized engine?) in the future.

Thanks guys for the inputs. Lastly, I did some research on youtube, any of you had oil extractor experiences? do they really suck out all the remaining oils out?

Yes, I have used the Mity-vac on several of my of vehicles including an e39 BMW 528i and a ML350 Bluetec. On each car I did 1 oil change w/ the extractor and then the next one via the drain plug. Always the same amount came out so end going back to the extractor.

Yes, dito with SKW. The Mity-Vac extractor is the way to go. I have always used this with my oil changes on my MB vehicles. I bought mine at Amazon, and it more than paid for itself with the oil changes over the years. MB has such an incredible easy and no mess oil change , due to the location of the oil filter on the engine, and the ability to do oil extraction from the oil dipstick tube. I know that I have probably saved hundreds of dollars on oil changes through the years.
