Backup Alarm........
Is there a way to turn on an audible alarm that sounds when you are backing up and get close to something?

There already is an audible alarm. It only turns on when you get really close. I can't remember the exact distance. Check the manual.

It will beep around 12 inches but only with a certain parking package. It is NOT standard.

2017 mercedes GLE 43 coupe
There are three alarm volume levels & two frequency levels that the dealer can change.

I had mine turned up from the default middle volume level to the highest level.

Also had the frequency change to emit the lower one ( closer to what my half-deaf ears could pick up)

When done,passengers say it was louder.I was still too deaf to pick it up.

Does anyone know if the dealer can also turn up the volume for the Blind Spot Detection? It's almost completely inaudible with the lease bit of ambient noise present. Have the audio system playing? Forget about ever hearing the warning.

Also can you turn up the fasten seat belt warning?

Is there no way the user can change these volumes? It seems stupid to hide something that pertains to various users hearing ability.

That was part of an option package in 2016, I assume also in 2018...
It has an audible alarm and also the visual warning lights in the back on the ceiling to let you know as you approach an object.
