Service A, but low miles.

So what's everyone's thoughts on Service A with a car a bit over a year old with 1200 miles? 1200 miles and an oil change already?

I would go by the miles personally.

I'd recommend sticking with the 1 year or 10,000 mile interval, if only to forestall any MB pushback if you have a future warranty claim.

Just so everyone is aware, that's whichever comes first. You don't get to choose which one. My car is a year and a half old. The Service A light still hasn't come on. I got an oil change and everything else included in Service A (as part of a free multi-point inspection) at the one-year point, as I'm no where near 10,000 miles. Oil loses its viscosity and lubrication properties after a year. NEVER keep the same oil longer than that.

I was told if something were to happen mechanically to your vehicle and you did not get the appropriate service, MB may say it's your fault since you didn't stick with the scheduled maintenance and thus not cover under warranty. Get the prepaid service, it's not that much to spend for 4 years of maintenance.

I had same dilema when mine had only 3k after 1 year of ownership, the light came on. I say just stick with the normal oil lifepan and do the oil change. In the long run it will definitely worth it.

A gaggle of MB's
To the OP - if you choose to skip Service A now - which is understandable due to low mileage - make sure you DON'T SKIP Service B at 2yrs - if for no other reason Brake Fluid should be flushed at 2yrs per Brake Fluid Manuf specs..

With such low mileage - remove Keyless Go button to prevent accidental drain - and understand that if you don't drive your's more - your tires will "square" and will need tire replacement about 2yr mark.

The "record" so far for low mileage - just got in a 2014 ML350W4 will 11 miles on the clock ... from Vance factory employee display car..
