Out with the old and in with the new..
Traded in my 2013 ML63 for this gem...just drove it home and seems very different...let the mods begin,...
I already have
-lowering links (in my posession)
-Pedal Box (ordered)
-radar detector installed
-phone cradle/power cord installed
Not present:
-heated steering wheel
Dealer did:
-full 3m clear bra
-front window tint - 35%
-rear cargo mat
-winter tires
I negotiated:
-free service/oil changes for 100,000 kms
-service agreement to 80,000 kms
-switch to new Michelin summer tires when summer comes (get rid of the crappy Pirelli P Zeros)
I added at cost:
-extended warranty 2 years 120,000kms
Built by Salih Denizer ( new moniker Deni) is a virtually full load with as I can see every option except carbon engine cover...why this was left off not sure.
A few initial observations:
-exhaust much more aggressive...burbles, throatier
-only one dvd can be inserted at a time
-new B&O $6,500 stereo option at first review does not sound as good as previous Harman Kardon...it may need some tweaking but the HK was REALLY good
-soft close doors are nice
-today at early church noticed the Merc logo on ground coming from mirrors...hmm...possibly tacky..jury out still
-I miss the Pedal Box..will be a welcome addition
-newer headlights seem better...and are active in turns...nice
-the biggest and most appreciated change is the transmission...that ugly, nasty, unbelievable miss from MB hesitation in the transmission is finally GONE...and shifting is precise, quick and so much better
All in all a very nice vehicle...not sure if I like the black wheels,,,night trim option...time will tell
I'll post some high rez images when weather improves meantime here are a few from a cell phone...

Nice GLE63S. Where did your run power for the phone? Did you use Pro Clip 854709 to attach to the vehicle? Looks good.

I just used the proclip with a flat base and double sided tape to the flat surface next to the driver temp control...I used this method on my '13 for 5 years and works great.. and I chase the wire (conceal it under the console side bolster) to the rear power outlet under the rear temp control module....full time power to the phone for charging.
It's disappointing the apple car play only works when the phone is connected into the inner console USB and when done limits any music to the music on the phone...you must disconnect the phone to use the other car audio features,,,,not impressed

Nice ride, but I would of just waited for the redesigned 2020 GLE63 at this point considering you bought a new 2018 and how bad these vehicles depreciate especially after a new model releases.

Firstly I hate the look of the new 2020...dash and all and this was a good opportunity to get into a 2018 optioned, colored exactly how I wanted
Secondly you don't even know what I paid for it so how can you evaluate the depreciation you suggest I will experience.
This was a previously owned with less than 8k miles that I figure I stole from the dealer, along with extended warranty...a new set of Michelin tires, full free service for 60,000 miles, free oil changes for ownership, full 3m wrap, tinted front windows, new winter tires...etc etc..
The original owner took a major hit and I think I did real well..
But again thanks..

Fellow Albertan. Nice purchase. Wish I could've went with the AMG, just didn't make sense being the wife is the one driving it most of the time. You don't happen to be in Edmonton do you? Kind of looks like Mercedes West end in the one pic. Maybe I'll see you around.

Really surprised your 63 S didn't have a carbon engine cover, that's a standard feature for the GLE63 S as a way to distinguish it from the regular GLE63. Looks great nonetheless! 'Grats.

Not for the GLE 63S, it's listed as a standard feature. The one we test drove, ours, as well as every other 63S on the dealer lots I've seen all came with the carbon engine cover as a standard feature with no cost. Not sure why yours didn't. Haggle with your dealer and maybe you can get a free one lol.

As I say...here it's an option as well as heated steering wheel which I also dearly miss....I did not order this vehicle or I would have chose these.....and I REALLY wish we could have the "magic vision" wipers which are n/a on the AMG63 S
