How do you install the illumination light on the 2016 GLE 350 4matic? The MB dealership wants $1100.00 to install it

The caveat btw, is it depends on what MB model and year... watch this video from the 2:15min mark
Here's the highlevel steps: https://www.mbtemecula.com/mercedes-...-installation/
How Do Technicians Install the Mercedes-Benz Illuminated Star?
Generally, installation of the Mercedes-Benz light-up emblem takes about one to two hours. It’s best to have professionals handle this type of service because installing the star involves routing its electrical harness to the ground terminal of the engine bay, along with a few other steps. The process takes time, and it’s easy to misinterpret an online DIY guide. Installation involves these steps:- Turn the Three-Pointed Star emblem on the grille counterclockwise to release it.
- Remove the fuse/relay module, and drill a hole in the fuse box.
- Secure the wire harness to the fuse/relay module.
- Connect the wire harness.
- Place the emblem back in its slot, and turn clockwise.
- Test the new Mercedes-Benz illuminated star.
I hope this is helpful!

Serious guys, another dealer wanted $1400.00. That is why I went to the internet to find out if it is that expensive. Now I learn the two dealers I visited tried to rip me off.

See if you can turn the star on your GLE counter-clockwise, if so, that means its pretty simple to remove and doesn't require removal of the grill. I think the hardest part is running the cables so that they are out of the way and don't get tangled. A small hole is apparently drilled in the fuse box... $Lets say the part is more than $300...lets say $500, $600 to $900 in labor? Nuts!

Thanks but none of these video helps, seen them before. I have a 2016 MB GLE 350 4matic that I want to install the illumination star but I don't want to spend $1100 to $14000.

None of the threads explain which color wire and how to connect in the fuse box, which slot to use etc. Or which color wire that goes to the headlight to tap into.

See attachment, not for your car...but same gist. You should reach out to Vic VIper off this thread... He might be able to get you the actual instructions for your model or confirm that these instructions work for your GLE.
