2016 GLE 350 reliability. Question.

Hello GLE owners,
I found 2015 MLs are very reliable cars.
What about 2016 GLEs?
Im looking to replace our 2014 ML BT with 100K miles on 2016 GLE 350
The one I found with
Engine 276955 30 923477
Transmission 722906 06 942730

Has 30K miles on it and its CPO, with unlimited miles for about two years.
I know its first GLE year but not sure how much they are different vs 2015 MLs. Don't see a lot of compliance on this forum.

Our ML gave us 0 issues so far, but as we all know diesels can be very problematic cars.

Would like to get your opinions on 2016 GLEs, should I look for 2017 ?

Thank you in advance.

I looked up the full Consumer Reports graph in the 2016 GLE and it's actually pretty good with all areas of the car solidly green except yellow for the climate control and orange for body integrity. There are no red areas at all. This is much better than most cars.
Looking up the 2015 ML350 shows different areas of concern, like power equipment and in-car electronics yellow but overall reliability is very good. The 2016 has only good rating a 4 out of 5 for good. So the 2015 seems slightly better but both cars rate quite well.

DanD, the M276 naturally aspirated engine and 722.9 7G-Tronic transmission is a reliable combination. Both the engine and transmission are widely used by M-B, and were introduced years earlier.

The 2016 W166 chassis for the GLE is the same as the 2014 W166 chassis for the ML. There are cosmetic differences due to a facelift in late 2015. The W166 chassis is generally reliable, exceptions are diesel engines and air suspension.

Moving from your 2014 ML to a 2016 GLE you will find updated appearance, with many similar or same features.

A W166 with naturally aspirated gasoline V6 and steel suspension is a robust vehicle.

Thank you both for your replies.
That is what I was expected.
Quick question, the car what Im interested has
929 ENGINE FOR ETHANOL FUEL E85

Do they all have it or its addon / engine mod? I really like to get a car as simple as possible.

Went from 2012 ML63 to a 2016 GLE63s coupe.... technically drive train is same, slightly more boost, platform is the same just with a different body, interior is i would say 90% the same with the exception of the command...

Body integrity seems more solid and no weird little issue's like the '12... then again no pano roof on the '16 coupe.... they seem to have gotten stuff worked out near the end of the run.

DanD, not all vehicles have option code 929. My vehicle does not have it. I don't know what the differences are when 929 is present. Looking at parts websites, it seems there are components that touch fuel (pumps, senders, etc.) that are different for 929 vs non-929 vehicles.
