Can you post a picture of the cover?
I pulled one a few months back to replace a rear bumper, but cant remember exactly what i did.
From memory I had to remove the pocket that the first aid kit is in by turning a pin or 2 to unlock and unclip.
Sorry work on 10 cars a day, it gets a little foggy after 50
