2018 GLE 350 Headers
Are the headers integrated into the block or can they be custom built? It has a decent growl under full throttle but I think there is a little more to be had from the engine.

.... but isn't your 2018 still under warranty? Just asking!
Have you considered 'chipping' it? I've seen ads for +40hp by manipulating ignition/fuel parameters.
Apparently I can boost mine to +50 hp this same way and I am considering getting it done.

And sorry OP. No idea on your question, but I would love to pull a bit of extra power from the 350.

For NA cars there are lots of ads/claims. This one was recommended in the Bimmer forums for their X6 5.0 V8 to boost its power to within reach of the almighty X6M without paying the premium. I was contemplating purchasing one but stuck with the Coupe.

Are there "chipping" options that don't require pulling the computer out and sending it in (I haven't found the one shown here)? A less-costly hp/torque improvement would otherwise be worthwhile.

I don’t think they do anything for the w166 350 either. They do the w167, but it’s a turbo 4.

"Our RaceChip's are used to adjust the injection values and change the boost pressure on vehicles equipped with forced induction (supercharger/ turbocharger).
It is my understanding that your GLE350 has the 3.5l natually aspirated flexfuel engine whereas the GLE400 utilizes a 3.0l turbocharged engine therefore unfortunately we cannot provide you with a suitable RaceChip. I do apologize for the inconvenience."
So, maybe with a vehicle upgrade in the future, but not for non-turbo engines.

I found a picture of the exhaust manifold. It’s 3 exhaust ports on each side that go right into a chalk collector and then into the down pipe. Nothing sexy. Even with that configuration, the engine sounds nice under a descent amount of throttle.

For anyone wanting confirmation I did receive a response back from Race Chip:

It’s like my pentastar in my Jeep. The exhaust is integrated into the engine block for some reason. Cost savings I am sure. I am thinking about having my exhaust tips come out of the faux openings in the number. Right now they just point down out of the muffle.
