Does it actually "adjusts the tune" (adjusts the boost/performance up/down in a given mode, I find it unlikely but one never knows) or just simply an ability to switch between unit's modes on different phone/tablet devices?

good question... without a dyno run, not sure... my friend with a dyno can't do 4matic...I am assuming the different modes adjust the 'tune'...

FWIW when I had the Comand screen on engine performance, the time to hit the full 362 hp level on the screen came a lot quicker in Race mode than stock mode and kept going a bit... there is some noticable pull in the higher RPM range (above 3,000 or so)... the butt dyno feels a bit more power...

it is certainly not near as noticeable as some tunes I've run before... have a nice JB4 where I run 96 octane in my N55 BMW X1

Ya I know what it does and especially in Race mode. I have it installed since early January and then recommended Dinan to this board.

I have installed dinantronics in my GLE400 and I love it so far. My observation till now:
- Throttle response is better.
- Gear shift up early. Used to see that my gear matching the car speed (while going 50-55 km/h I would be in the 5th gear. But since I have installed dinantronics I have seen my car in 6th gear while speed reach 53 km/h).
- Engine oil is normal. Maxed at 102 degree C while outside temp is 44 degree C).

All in all I am satisfied with this purchase. I got carried and bought K&N filters but still have not install them.

After some initial challenges, the piggyback tune works well for what it is...I added a Pedal Box throttle tune and both work rather well in combination and also allow reverting back to stock with the App...

By all means it is not a 63 but a very lively ride non the less

But even with the APK file, you still need a device with the older Bluetooth version (4.0) right?

Thank you man, so basically with the APK from them you can use any phone (newer) and modify the tunes. This is what I wanted to hear/see.
I just ordered mine directly from Dinan, will update after a week or so of using it.
