How many wear sensors are on a 2016 GLE350?

Brought it somewhere to change brake pads, but light is still on. Wondering how many sensors they need to change. When I look at part diagrams says there's 4, other mercedes only have 2. Any ideas?

mercedesbenzstarparts shows left and right wear sensors for both front and rear brakes. 4 sensors total. Check your service invoice and call your shop if the invoice doesn’t spell out clearly the number of sensors replaced.

I may consider a brake change before this winter. Have you changed your brakes and do you recommend changing the sensors. Information I've seen leaves it vague as to whether to change them on condition, or with the brake change.

@GLE John I have not yet changed my brakes, but they will probably be needed in the next 12 months or sooner. I will change the wear sensor on principal, whether it has failed (worn through) or not.

I've had luck both ways... My rule of thumb on this it to have a couple of sensors on hand in case you damage them them. Usually I plan to change them out every other brake pad change or when I change the rotors... Obviously if you let the sensors wear you need to change them...
