2016 GLE350 4Matic Brake Pads Replacement Warning
I’m guessing it’s the front. How long do I have, before bringing it in?
I checked my back brake iAds and looks life some life left.
is it advisable to have just the front pads replaced ?
OR do all 4 at the same time ?
my rotors look fine to me but not sure if dealer will machine OR replace them.
What’s the brake job going to cost $ ?
Will the dealer flush my brake fluid again ?
I had it flushed in Feb with B service
- all four brakes do not need to be replaced at the same time. You can change the front set or the rear set at different times.
- rotors do not need to be replaced with pads, if they meet thickness specifications and you are not experiencing vibration.
- cost varies, it is somewhere in the mid $1000 range (less than $2000) for all four wheels, if you have base brakes. ie not AMG, carbon ceramic, etc. Call your dealer and an Indy shop for a quote. This is an intermediate level DIY job. I plan to change my own pads and rotors.
The most conservative thing to do is to change all four sets of pads and rotors when the first wear indicator light appears. For you this is now. I did this on a previous vehicle because I had a different family/work life balance situation at the time, and don’t regret the decision.

- wow amazing price for a complete brake job. Did they use aftermarket parts ?
Very low mileage for brake replacement.
- 63K miles I got the warning and had the back brake pads replaced for $500 at the dealer. Front brake pads still good. Bought our 2016 GLE350 4Matic new from the dealer. So far impressed by brake life.
I always have it serviced at the dealer, don’t know any good independent mechanics 🧰 and don’t trust anyone else messing with GLE.
