2016 GLE350 4Matic Lock 🔒 and arm 🔑 vehicle with door open
I’ve tested this on both our vehicles the 2016 GLE350 and 2017 GLC300. Completely bizarre behaviour.
front door left open - locked and armed the car - flashed and short beeped, mirrors folded. Walked away.
back door left open- same thing locked and armed car - walKed away from vehicle.
i didn’t think this was possible? The car alarm system shouldn’t be allowing this. And should warn you beep - beep - check back I need attention. It shouldn’t allow to lock and arm vehicle.
With previous vehicles, when trying to lock and arm vehicle - and a door has been left open, the vehicle will alert you beep-beep and won’t lock 🔒 and arm the vehicle.
How is this possible on these MB vehicles ?
I locked and armed the car last night and noticed the cabin light was On, waited for a while and the light tiurned off. I thought everything was good. This morning I found out that the back door was accidentally left open BUT the car was locked and armed. Anyone else experience this ?

GLC 300d 4matic
I have experienced something similar with my GLC300d. ..... in my case it was the boot/trunk lid that was open.
I placed something in the boot/trunk, pressed the lock button and walked away. The lid closed and horn beeped to confirm car was locked. When I returned I discovered lid was half open and car was locked. Lid had detected an obstruction on way down and had reversed direction as designed, however the car had continued to lock as normal.
