2016 GLE 350 how many Crank shaft position sensors
the mechanic is telling me it has 2 and is charging me $643 to replace both. the issue i'm having: when accelerating, the car suddenly loses power and jerks back and forth... as if i'm hitting the gas and letting go repeatedly. After researching, it seems to be the crank shaft position sensor. But from what i'm reading, there is only 1 (and i'm not even sure where its located, i could not find it).
recently the same mechanic replaced the a/c compressor and condenser... couple of days ago i noticed a leak from the pass side of the radiator so i took it to them to check... they said its tranny fluid leaking from a fitting going into the tranny cooler which they apparently removed to get to the condenser (sorry i dont know the correct name for it) which looks like the radiator. if the tranny fluid is low, could that cause the violent jerking?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Failed crank pos sensor usually = no start.
Failed cam position sensor (there are 4) can result in poor performance, misfire, stumbling, rough idle. Sounds like your mechanic doesn’t know what he is talking about. Reason to find another (qualified) mechanics
Crank post Sensor you can start it but it will shut off when the motor is warm. I have replace couple of them in my old W209 CLK500 that holds (1) crank sensor on the driver side (LHD) at the back of the motor and firewall kind of further down. You need a mirror or camera to see it (tight space to get hands in there).
From experience. The crank sensor sometime don't trigger the CEL. On the CLK500 it was roughly about 62k-80k miles before you have to change out the crank sensor.
