Is there a way to activate Intelligent light system plus at a minimal cost?

I have a 2018 GLE350 and it’s come to my attention that I payed for the intelligent light system but can’t use half of its features due to US regulations at the time. Now that it’s legal, I’ve been looking at coding options but all of them cost 200 bucks or more. I’d be happy to code it myself but I’m unsure of the tools needed or how to access software needed. Is there anyone who could point me in the right direction? Thank you!

I would like to understand more details as I have a 2016 with the upgraded led lights… maybe this would apply to my vehicle also…?
What lighting options aren’t you currently getting?
How did you find this legality and other ancillary information out? What was the source?
What features are you looking to add that are not currently turned on?
Thanks
Chris

Its possible, go to www.vindecoderz.com and enter your vin. Scroll down and make sure you have package 608 and 640. If you do, your vehicle is compatible and has it. Just locked behind the software. As for legality, in 2020 the US made it legal for advanced LED systems to be used. Prior to that, Mercedes just gave it to anyone who bought the package in the US but locked most of its features behind software due to laws. The benefits are massive atleast for me and I should be able to use it because I paid for it. The features enable the vehicle to move the headlights position based on the scenario. Say you turn your steering wheel right or turn the right blinker on, the headlights will move to the right to illuminate that area. Say you are heading up a curved road, the vehicle will adjust the headlights to shine the whole road. Say a vehicle is coming up on your left, your vehicle can move the left headlights down but keep the right ones up. It’s a pretty complex procedure but can be done with the right tools. The software to do it currently only works on 2017 prior vehicles as far as I’m aware. There’s videos on YouTube, or you could have someone code it for you. Cheapest I’ve seen is 200 bucks. I’m just trying to find out how to code it in for a 2018 vehicle.

that’s great! I’m going to make an attempt into talking to My local tech at the dealership. Maybe he can let me or maybe he can himself unlock the function.

Interesting! I found this
on Youtube. There's a great summary of what has to be done in the description section below the video. Wish I had and knew how to use the tool ...

I found that video too. Unfortunately as far as I’m aware vediamo (the software he uses) only works on 2017 prior vehicles. Mine is a 2018. The equipment is also expensive. Even renting the equipment is expensive. Shouldn’t Mercedes provide an update to us which the dealer can install? My tesla has a similar headlight system and when it became legal, They simply enabled the functionality over an update.

RJ does remote coding: https://rjautomotive.net/products/mu...tion-us-canada

I can personally vouch for his service - it's excellent.
