Thoughts on a never serviced GLE 43
I have been searching for a GLE 43 SUV (not coupe) for sometime. Came across one in my area with 122k. Car fax shows not a single service record. Looks like one owner. Of course the 43 is simple when compared to the 63 but still worrisome that not a single service record exists. Anyone have experience buying a used one with high miles?

Its been only last few years, when Carfax will show service done at licenses shops.
For decades people were buying cars without Carfax and when that did lead to some cheating, it did work.
Whenever I buy used vehicle, I start with blow-by test.
Than take it for a spin and compare 0-60 time to what original spec are giving.
Even if the seller DIY the service, he suppose to have it recorded this way, or the other.
Finaly on modern cars, a scanner will give you record of FSS resetting.

Just because a service record doesn't exist doesn't mean that service wasn't performed, either at an independent shop or the seller is a mechanic himself and does his own work. Carfax and dealerships isn't a guarantee that quality work was or was not performed.

A car with 122k on the motor without a single service history means = walk away. I rarely see an MB without teething problems in the first 4 years which will be fix by a dealer. Depending on the year there should be at least 1 recall on the vehicle which should be checked and fixed. If that is not done ask MB if they will still do it. If not, walk away.
