Gle350d vs GLE400
I am interested in thoughts on 2016 gle350d vs gle 400.
I have had 4 vehicles with om642 engines in the past, 1 of them had engine seizure, one of them had severe oil consumption, the other was good but sold due to moving. I currently have a gl320 cdi 2008 which is great but I want something with updated safety features, Bluetooth, etc., so that leads me to look into 2016 gle350d. This is the final year for mercedes diesel in Canada.
My question is what do people think of the final iteration of the om642 that is in the gle350d, which is available in Canada. Is this engine more reliable than the previous om642, are the bluetec components upgraded to be more reliable?
I have heard twin turbo V6 in the 400 is very reliable and powerful. I just really love torque, which is why I like diesel engines. I also drive 35000km per year, mostly highway. I don't keep vehicles for more than 3-4 years. If I go to diesel gle 350d, I would find one with plenty of bluetec warranty left.
Anyone else face this decision tree? I would be open to your thoughts.

Worse than the 2008 since it has a bunch of emissions items added to it that are the Achillies heel to the engine. Go with the GLE400. Great engine with plenty of power and gets great mileage - not as good as the diesel but will be quantum leaps cheaper to run.
