2017 GLE 350 Aftermarket wheels and lug nuts
My recently purchased 2017 GLE 350 came with aftermarket wheels by Drag Wheels (DR 67).
My issue is all the 20 lug nuts are keyed lug nuts that use 10 spine key.
I hit a curb and had a flat, surprisingly the previous owner didn't leave the key in the car, lucking I was able to put air in it and got to a tire shop that had the
10 spine key. I've bought 2 online and they've both had split.
The OEM nuts will not fit, because the wheels takes a cone shape nuts.
I will prefer to a nut with no key, one with a 17mm or 19mm Hex.
Can you please recommend one?
I called DRAG and they said they don't supply accessory to the wheels smh.

Lug bolts use H&R. I went through living hell with aftermarket lug bolts they tend to snap inside the hub. I even had a wheel fell off when I was making a turn from a traffic light (not even 10mph) on my old CLK.
The key with aftermarket wheels with Mercedes is finding the correct shank length with the offset of the wheels and if your using spaces or not you need to calculate this as well. I used Ball seat on my CLK you need to find out what type of seats it uses.

Cheap Chinese made that the wheel shop provided. Use the same spec and got some from H&R paid the high price. It was worth it. Did not have a single Lug bolt snapped.

Over torquing as well as running non-hubcentric wheels without mounting rings can also snap even the best lug bolts. Then again, all bets are off if its a really bad manufacturer. I've just never had any issues with any type of lug bolts I've used over the last 35 years and I've run a bunch. Everyone has different experiences though and I will not discount yours.

They were torque to 80 ft. lbs. I torque them myself in a star pattern.I would not cheap out on wheel lug bolts from bad experience I had. I even had a flatbed to come to my rescue. I could not look when they were putting it on the bed without a wheel on the vehicle. Lucky he use some wood block stand when he was putting the vehicle on the bed.
