Question Where does the transmission fluid dipstick located in a rear drive 2018 GLE350?

hi guys,

My car is a rear drive 2018 GLE350. I want to fill up the transmission fluid through the dipstick hole to improve the gear shifting failure from Parking to Drive when waiting for a traffic light. However, i can't find the dipstick on the surface of the engine or somewhere. seems the dipstick port is hidden under the plastic engine cover. Someone told me that the dipstick port is located at the rear left of the engine. But it looks very hard to remove the cover without special tools.

Any one can give me an guidance on that.?

Many thanks!

Michael

Not sure if it have one if it does it should be next o the MAF (left side) at the very far back of the motor. Like the other Benz, only the dealer have those dipsticks (You can order one online). If you have a dipstick port there is a safety tab clip that is not reusable. That need to be remove first.

I know there is a check/fill/drain plug on the transmission pan. There is a procedure. Also I know they use Infrared Temperature Gun or Thermometer to check transmission fluid level through temperature reading.

I looked all over the net and Youtube. I don't thing the 9G Trans have a fill port in the engine bay. There is a bolt on the transmission pan with a tube attach and you have to pump the fluid in once it start coming out it will stop then it is level. I'm not even sure if my 2016 GLE even have a dipstick port. I'm going to check. I know the older Benz they had a port for the dipstick.

The 7G, 7G+, and 9G transmissions do not have a dipstick. The 9G at least has different positions of the drain plug
