Hello, the wife 550E this morning thew a P02193 code with "The Engine Speed Is Too High. The On-time Of The Signal Frequency Is Too Long" without any physical indication while we were driving up the hill to our home, came together with transmission unable to communicate code U0146 Error: Car Gateway Communication Issue. I have maintenance manual from "Repair Surge" but that manual doesn't really give a very well description of the sensor location nor does it have troubleshooting guide. I'm thinking since it didn't go to Limp mode or RPM raised uncommand while driving, possibly bad crankshaft sensor or transmission speed sensor. Anyone knows the precise locations of these components?
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!
How good is the battery's?
P02193 - System too lean at higher load on Bank 2.
P02193 - System too lean at higher load on Bank 2.
- O2 sensor
- clogged Engine air filters
- check or replace sparkplugs
- clogged or defective Injector's
- Software update
- Open in the Can bus + and or - Circuit
- Short to power in either Can bus circuit
- Short to ground in either Can bus circuit
- Open power or ground to Gateway "A" module - most common
- Rarely - faulty control module
Amusa, looks like I missed a number 5 on the ECM Code. This is what exactly the iCarsoft data reader shows fault...

Once you clear the code out how long does that code come back? What is the mileage on the GLE?
I can't get much information on the P021935. This is what I found (copy and paste)
P021935 is one of the fault codes for Mercedes-Benz cars. It indicates that the engine's fuel injector control module (Fuel Injection Control Module) has a fault. This fault may cause problems such as reduced engine performance, increased fuel consumption, and excessive emissions. To solve this problem, you first need to check the engine's fuel injection system, including components such as the fuel pump, injector, and fuel pressure regulator. If these components are found to be damaged or aged, they need to be replaced. At the same time, you also need to check the engine's control system to ensure that it is working properly. If there is a problem with the control system, it also needs to be repaired or replaced. After troubleshooting, the engine needs to be retested to ensure that all components are working properly. If you encounter problems during the repair process, it is recommended to seek professional technicians for inspection and repair.
P0219 is Crankshaft position sensor
Cause: The powertrain PCM detects that the engine's crankshaft is rotating faster than it should
Location of sensor's

- Crankshaft Sensor is right above the driver side primary catalytic converter on LHD vehicles on the non hybrid M276 motor. I don't know much about the Hybrid motors.
- Transmission speed sensor is located on the transmission housing. I never been underneath a Hybrid model.
Thank you Amusa, I'm going to look into the sensor/connector and ring those out to see their values. The vehicle is at 53,000 miles with battery just finished capacity check less than 2 months ago passing over 85%. I'm curious where did you find these info? I'm paying subscription to repair surge for maintenance manual and they seem to have very minimal info as well as system description of certain component/system of the vehicle. If there is a better solutions for this, I would absolutely love to get my hand on it since we like to do most of our vehicle maintenance at home if possible unless other wise professional is needed. Thanks in advance!!
I found it on google search but I had to translate the page to English. I can't remember what website I found it.
It got me thinking I swapped my CKP sensor with an aftermarket less then a month I got the weirdest CEL code. I'm wondering what that code was It was a P0219 with couple of extra numbers. This was like over 7 years ago when I had my CLK and I had no symptoms at all just CEL.
