GLE W166 OEM HUD Retrofit kit
Hi!
I recently found that there's an OEM retrofit kit for HUD on W166. However, I really couldn't find any detail information except a couple of old forum post talking about how ugly it is.
I am interested in installing one to my 2017 W166 can I ask if anyone have any information on the steps to install this? I am trying to see if I can do the job myself. I'm aware it needs some coding but besides that how much need to be taken apart, are there any drilling/cutting needed?

Have hud in 2 new cars. Put one of these in 2 older Mercedes and just tuck the wire down in trim to obd port. Hardly noticeable. Works fine.

I do not think I have ever seen or heard of any W166 with HUD. I had HUD in my corvette and have it in my W213 E Class. To be honest I never really cared for it.
What is the source for saying this OEM kit is available?
