Why do you guys care about re-badging so much? Who cares what badge it is? Driving around with a different badge does nothing but bolster the perception that Mercedes owners are just badge whoring idiots. If you have a GLE450 or GLE43 what difference does it make? This seems like the silliest thing in the world to me.

Production of 2017 starts July 14 whats I was told. Should arrive within two months. 2017 drops the Exclusive package MXP on the Canada side. You have to pick the option up as stand alone. And no more U09 dash.

So has anyone figured out if the GLE400 will get the same treatment as the Coupe and become a GLE43 with the 9 speed transmission, and upgraded HP & TQ? I don't really mind the engine output power as I can get a EC or Renntech tune to fix that. I am more concerned about the new updated transmission. I heard it was really good.

For sure MB is introducing a regular GLE 43. Some member has already placed orders. But is it to replace GLE 400. That I am not sure. Why not just get a GLE 43

Not really a fan of the GLE coupe. I really like the old ML and new GLE however, I want the new 9 speed transmission. I drove the GLE Coupe to try out the transmission and it was pretty quick. The Sales guy had no idea if the regular GLE truck will be renamed to 43 because most of the sales for the GLE are 350s. Most aren't looking for a high performance regular GLE and if they are, it would be a GLE63s.

Just like another member on here, I don't want to make a purchase for a GLE400 and then Mercedes makes the 43. I would be pissed too.

Like the guys on the w205 section that bought a c400 and a year later it's the c450 with 9-speed transmission and a lot more HP & TQ.

For US market - there has been no announcement of a GLE43-SUV - yes there is a GLE43-Coupe.

FYI - formal dealer order bank on 2017 GLE400-SUV opened May 24th

There is a regular SUV GLE 43 introduced. Not just GLE 43 Coupe. If you search Mercedes Benz Japan website. You will see that GLE 43 and GLE 43 coupe are already shown. Will it be available in the US market? I am not sure.

argh...Well I have 6 more months until my lease is up on my current car. I hope Mercedes has figured out what they are doing by then. Maybe the GLE coupe would grow on me. Otherwise for the price of a fully loaded GLE 43 Coupe, I might as well wait for the GLC63S.

To be sure that I understand you post - Dealers can start to order 2017 GLEs as of May 24 if they have an allocation?...we are anxiously awaiting after ordering a 2017 GLE43 AMG Coupe...the sooner it can be ordered=sooner delivery. Also Fabbrisd1 - can you confirm another poster that indicated production for 2017 GLE is to start Jul 14....I am aware that the 2017 GLS is manufactured at the same facility as the GLE and is already arriving at dealers. Thanks in advance!
