2017 AMG GLE43
Does anyone know if the GLE 450 Coupe will go on sale as the AMG GLE43 with the start of the 2017 model year? I think orders for the 2017 model can be put in sometime in March. I'm planning on buying the GLE Coupe but don't want to buy the 450 if it's being rebranded as an AMG43.

There are lots of articles out there about this. MB has decided to kill off the AMG Sport line and integrate the 450s into the full blown AMG lineup as AMG 43s. Also, there's this short interview with AMG CEO Tobias Moers at the Detroit Auto Show a few weeks ago where he flat out admits it.

wow, really.
But, nothing is gonna change, right? Engine, body style? etc?
I hope it is as simple as changing the badge (or debadge for the 450 coupe)

I'm wondering if anyone can confirm arrival of GLE43 AMG (SUV) in 2017? The DOG says GLE 400 will continue...
Thanks

We just ordered 2017 GLE43 AMG Coupe on May 12. This badging replaces the current badging GLE450. The estimated delivery date is 4 months.(September)
There are very few of these (Coupes) made available to dealers hence, low supply + demand = reduced negotiating leverage. Having seen this current model it will be well worth the wait.

What exactly is the difference besides the badging

I believe that the 2016 GLE450 and GLE43 AMG Coupe are the same other than the badging. We built our 2017 with our sales rep and the options and packages came up the same.

Sport models to bring them into the AMG lineup proper.
Mercedes-Benz introduced AMG Sport to rival the likes of BMW M Performance and Audi’s S line. But it has decided to reposition, and rechristen the halfway house models, which sit between the regular Mercedes-range and fully fledged AMG sportscars.
The models will now be badged as Mercedes-AMG 43 to bring them into line with the rest of AMG’s nomenclature.
So the current Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG will become the Mercedes-AMG C43.
The Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG will be the Mercedes-AMG GLE 43, and so on.

I wonder if dealers or Mercedes-Benz will offer to rebadging if customers are hesitant to make a purchase. Or have some kind of accessories badge kit to customers that have purchased if they wish to do so

MY17 E43 Matte Selenite/Macchiato Beige, MY16 GLE350d Tenorite/Crystal Grey, MY17 B250
The truck is essentially identical apart from badging but there are new colors for 2017 - Brilliant Blue and Selenite Grey. Tenorite and Palladium are dead.

so... it is 99.99% the same. Not sure if it is worth the wait. If I was given 10% off GLE 450 comparing to 3-5% off GLE 43, same year, same month, same built. I will probably pick the GLE 450 and ask dealer to rebadge it as one of the sale condition.
