I'm really thinking of ordering this and waiting vs ordering a GLE400, but I have no idea where to find pricing info. Any possible way you could let me know what you got for MSRP for base price and options for one you ordered.
What I would order is as follows - small list:
Leather interior - I'm assuming comes standard
(thinking of getting the crystal gray)
Metallic paint (black, brilliant blue, or diamond silver)
P2 (only if required to get LED high beams) - or is this standard on this one?
Parking assist
None of the dealers here even told me I could order one now - on East Coast. Maybe they would rather I just order an GLE 400.
Also, were you able to get a decent discount off MSRP?
Were you able to drive one anywhere?

I would definitely wait and get the GLE43 now that MB has officially announced it, if I was you. I already feel like I want to dump my GLE400.

Is there anything you don't really like about the GLE400 you have - just in case I decide to order this one? Or any features you wish you would have gotten or ones you got that you don't really need?
Wondering if it might be worth a trip To Canada to buy one - or if there is anyplace in the US I can see one in person and drive one. I'm on the East Coast.

Couple questions/comments:
Does this mean that leather is an extra, since leather is included in base price of GLE400?
Should I assume that the "P1" package is included as part of what is included in the GLE43, including Harmon Kardon Logic 7 rdio?
Do you think they will discount this, as with any other one ordered? Currently the dealer will discount if I do order a 2017 GLE400.
SO, you're saying you have a "scheduled production date of January 2nd 2017 for your GLE43 Full size SUV", and does that mean (what the dealers say here), it will take about 10 days for it to be shipped, so you'll have it possibly by end of January?
Also, were you able to drive one anywhere?

Apparently so. I spoke to a salesman today to confirm. Actually, the P2 gives you the LED high beams, as well as the heated/cooled cupholders
, etc. You get the LEDs the normal regular lights as standard equipment.Also, interesting that leather is NOT included but is add-on option apparenly for $1620, while included in the GLE400.

Just change your badging from the 400 to 43 and you are all set :-)
MB messed up all this naming anyway noone knows what is what anymore excpet for the exhaust package stinking out the rear. And if you want to change that its a really fun custom you can do (if not in a 63 that is)

Yes, the P1 pack is included.
No clue if they will discount the car. They only had one allotment for the GLE43W4 so I really don't know.
Delivery date is estimated for early to mid Feb 2017.
Nope since this will be the first run of GLE43W4s for the US, there were no cars to test drive.

GLE43 in SPORT+ burps and farts just like a C43 with the flaps open.
The only disappointment with respect to the lack of a physical button in the GLE43 is that I prefer the transmission characteristics of SPORT but you have to be in SPORT+ to get the backfiring. In the C43 you can have the exhaust noise in any mode (via the exhaust control button).

i think its just catering to the market preference and cost saving. keeping a normal gle 350 for majority of the population. For those that wants a little more power and turbo engine they could pick the GLE43. Don't make sense to have gle 400 at the same time when rest of the benz lineup renaming to 43 AMG. Also majority of the 3.0 turbo engine in the lineup right now are the AMG tuned version with is essentially the same as the one in GLS 450. therefore, no point of keeping a GLE 400 3.0 engine that is slightly different from the rest of the lineup. One might see that as just another mid cycle update but limited to the GLE 400/43 AMG. The engine received a little more power and pretty much with the old GLE 400 black sports body kit and rim. MSRP starts at $68,795 instead.
