You put the 285/40/22's on back in January, eight months later, was that a good decision? Did the car handle the same in winter & summer?

I have 285/40's all the way around as well.

We didn't have enough snow this winter to evaluate that, but it has a made a HUGE difference on how ours handles. We have a road that we drive on daily that had semitruck tire tracks in the pavement. With the larger rears, we would get thrown from groove to groove, to the point of it was almost dangerous to drive. That has all but gone away.

The tires are lasting longer as well, since I have A/S tires on there. At least twice as long ..

Great! Thanks for the quick response. I'm considering the Toyo Proxes STIII, they are a 40,000 mile tire, I only have 7300 on the vehicle and the rear tires are shot! The fronts have about 1/3 left. Really appreciate your answer, cheers!

I have the same tire setup on mine without any issue even with the Michigan winter.

Do you mind sharing the tire brand and type? If its working for you, it will work for me. One last question, did the MB Dealer have anything to say about the setup when you have the vehicle serviced? I am wondering if deviating from the standard spec could cause any warranty issues. Thanks so much!!

Yokohama Parada Spec_X All_Season, I went to dealer a few times and they never said a thing about the tires.

Same tires, and same dealer experience so far. I'm not for sure what the dealer could complain about though, since the tires are the exact same circumference as the ones that were on there.

In full disclosure mode, it's important that you understand that it will not look as good from the back now, because these tires are definitely narrower than the originals, and it's obvious...

I thought that there was some rumbling in this thread, or another one, about a (or more than one) manufacturer coming out with 325/35-22's that were all season?

That still doesn't seem to have happened...

I think I just found my next set of tires. My Perelli's are down to 4/32" in the rear with only 8,500 miles on them. I knew they were performance tires when I bought the car, but this is ridiculous. According to the link below, the PARADA Spec-X tires by Yokohama come in both 285/40R22 106Y and 325/35R22 110Y. They're all-season too. I think Yokohama tires are one of the best kept secrets out there. I had a set decades ago and they were amazing....smooth, quiet, excellent wet/dry traction and long tread life. What more could you ask for?

325 tire is currently not listed on the Yokohama website. Have to keep searching for the 325 all season tires.

I contacted Yokohama Tire Corp (USA) and they confirmed that the Parada Spec-X all-season tire is not available in the 325/35R22 size. Regarding the misleading information on their web page (see post #85 of this thread) their Marketing dept wrote:

"Using both tire finder and the product page tech tables there’s no such size as 325/35R22. The problem here was that the tire finder pulled up all the different sizes (wheel options) that the GLE43 AMG has that we have fitments for.

We apologize and are working on it because when you search by vehicle on our website it pulls every single tire that tgpSize listed and as long as there’s one match with our size availability it’ll list the tire."

I forgot to add to my last post about my experience with the Parada Spec X's.

We have the 285/40's all the way around. While I don't like the way that they look on the back, I can live with it.

I have really noticed any differences in the handling, except that it handles a LOT better on the road that we had issues with when the tires were staggered.

The other thing that we have noticed is that the life of these tires is going to blow the Pirellis AND Conti's (we've had both) out of the water. We got about 10K on the rears, and about 20K on the fronts (just Pirellis up there). We have about 17K on the Parada's currently, and I think that we are probably somewhere around half-life for the tires. I expect us to at least make it to 30K, if not 35K. That's a HUGE win in my book.

Now, if only Yokohama would develop a 325/35 version, we would be set...

So i just bought my wife a GLE 43 AMG coupe that has 22 wheels and horrible P Zeros. We live in Seattle and are going to ski a lot so i wanted something all season to put on there. Before today i have considered about every alternative tire size those rims can take and landed on Nitto NT420V 285/40/22 for front and 305/40/22 for rears. These are all season tires that just came out so no reviews yet. Just today i learned that Nitto has released a direct fit to our cars 325/35/22 in NT420V model. This suppose to be an all season tire with weirdly looking thread. What are your guys thoughts and how do you think this will do in light snow?

On paper, those tires look like the BOMB!! There have been rumblings of a tire maker coming up with A/S tires in our size (the rear tire). There are several options for the fronts, but none for the rear until now.

That's a pretty aggressive tread. I would think that it wouldn't be too bad in the snow, but it's not going to be snow tires, for sure...

PUMPED THAT WE NOW HAVE OPTIONS!!!

Yeah i cannot justify snow tires when we just go skiing on weekends, plus most of the time snow is laying on the ground only last couple of miles. Im more looking for all season tire with some capability. When you say these tires looks like bomb on the paper, what exactly do you mean?

Good traction of A, good temperature of A, and wear rating of 460. Should be good tires...

oh okay that makes sense. I will probably end up putting them on some time this month. I wish someone could tell me how they do in light snow.

I have Parada Spec-X 285's on all four corners right now, and they are A/A/420. I think that we will easily get 30000 miles out of them, maybe more. We couldn't get 10000 miles on those rear summer tires, and only got 20000 miles on the front tires, and they were totally shot.

The Nitto's are going to be our next tires for sure....

I considered those tires as well but turned to Nittos because they are newer release. On the side note, how is reliability or your GLE? Im a bit scared for Airmatic so will probably get extended warranty after factory expires (june 2022).
