AMG 43 Exhuast sound adjustment
Just took delivery of our GLE AMG 43 W4 SUV. Wow!!! First MB - always have had BMWs but this car is pretty nice.
Love it. My better half is wondering if there is any way to adjust the exhaust - make it not as loud.
When starting up, for the first 2 minutes it is pretty throaty, and then quiets down, but still seems a bit loud. While driving, though the sound cushioning is excellent. We feel like teenagers again, which I guess is probably a good thing. Should we worry about getting pulled over even driving at normal speeds?

First off good luck with your new ride... In comfort mode it is the quietest but still louder (throaty) than the average Mercedes. In sport + mode you really hear it . I had a 65 GTO with exhaust cutouts and it sounds similar in the sport+ mode. You won't get pulled over. Nobody on this forum has ever mentioned getting a loud muffler ticket. Just enjoy and don't worry. Frank

This really is a fun car - the more I drive it, the more I like it. Seems to corner like a BMW 3-series.

The exhaust sound is one of the reasons why we buy AMG. That sound is just sublime. Music to my ears. Yes, some people don't like it but gosh-I love it. Wish I could make it louder at times. I feel my blood rush during a cold start up.
When driving round a blind curve or blind rise on a road busy with pedestrians...by the time vehicle is in sight they would have cleared the road. I dont want to even start with the pops and crackles.

Love the sounds. Cops here in GA love them too....ironically many of ours are car guys. They laugh and thumbs up at the 2-3 up shift long as you’re not breaking any mph limits....definitely on the downshift too. Love it!
