Brake pad issue

My screen show up a message " check brake pad wear ". Then i research google then it might be my brake pad time to replace. I called to my near by dealer and ask the cost to replace brake pad. They mentioned $1500 front, $1800 rear. Since the price just like from the top of mountain.
Would you guys recommend i order from my own pad and bring to bodyshop replace it?

Please advise guys

Thank you so much

Wow that's way too much money. What part of the world are you located? Do you DIY? This is a straightforward job and is well documented on this site.

Yes, order the pads and do the work yourself. Or take the pads to an independent repair shop.

Is this your first German vehicle? Independent repair shops, aka "indies", are a well-established segment in the German car repair world. Brakes are dead simple. Do a Google search and if you are anywhere located near civilization you should come up with a couple of shops specializing in German vehicles.

Brakes are dead easy. Do them yourself or go to an indy.
