Merging W166 (ML/GLE) and X166 AMG Forums?

I am not 100% sure if this has been discussed before or not, but performing a forum search lead me to 0 results.

Do any other members of the forum believe that merging the ML/GLE/GL 63 forums to one would be beneficial for the group? The vehicles are built in the same location and share many similarities. It came to mind when scrolling through the forum lists and I saw that the W166 ML 63, X166 GL63, and GLE SUV/COUPE 63 forums each had 3 members viewing. If we had all 9 members viewing one group it would create more visibility for issues, modifications, concerns, etc.

I am guessing it is up to the admins to merge but for instance the W220 and W221 AMG forum is merged together which I think have less in common than the ML,GL, and GLE.

Thoughts?

Completely agree with this. I’m in a 2014 ML63 and have to bounce around between the E63 and GLE63 forums. I think the ML should be merged into the GLE since the W166 spans across the ML/GLE platform.

Only MBs - the best or nothing
Someone had a brilliant idea by actually merging W166 GLE63 forum with V167 GLE63 forum instead of W166 ML63 forum.

The only thing in common between 166 GLE63 and 167 GLE63 is the name. The cars can not be more completely different otherwise.

166 GLE63 and 166 ML63 is essentially the same (or close to it) car, with the biggest difference being the name (well there's exterior "facelift", but for most parts interior and "mechanics" are the same).

This! Mods, please fix and combine X166 platforms but do not mix 166 with 167.

Personally I don't like the new format of W166 and W167 AMG chassis being merged into one. As example - the W212 and W213 AMG forums or the W210 and W211 AMG forums and others are not merged.

There is little I can learn from a W167 AMG owner and vice-versa. These chassis don't even share the same engine. This causes more reading to determine which car is actually being discussed.

This. Should have never merged X166 with X167. Different chassis with different engine.

Hello members. I am trying to gain more visibility in my push to try and get the W166/X166 (ML/GLE/GL) forums merged into one group. My thoughts are that the ML/GLE are essentially the same vehicle just with a changed name plate, in regards to the W166. And the GL/GLS is also the same in regards to the X166 chassis code. I believe merging these forums together will increase visibility of issues, conversations, and actions in our respective forums. It will also help old and new members in their search for answers and opinions.

The thread that I started is in the Group suggestions sections of the forum.

Below is the Link:

https://mbworld.org/forums/suggestio...one-forum.html

If you could please comment your thoughts here so that the admins will be able to see that there are many group members that support this; it will greatly help.

Thanks!
